    Let me get this straight.

    Joshua sits on some stone steps. There's not much to them. They're simply steps leading to the front door of a building.

    I lose a match. That's one, after being on quite the streak, if I must say so myself.
    You win one match after being on a bit of a down streak lately. Nothing major, but you haven't exactly been a world-beater lately.

    But anyway.
    I lose a match to the freaking Universal Champion.
    You knocked out a seven foot pimp who hasn't been relevant since I was in middle school.

    And now you're deserving of a shot at Steve Fella.
    While I'm some punk kid who can't finish?

    I don't have a killer instinct?!

    Joshua takes a deep breath. He holds it for a really long time before exhaling slowly and loudly.

    Joshua makes whirling motions with both hands as he thinks.

    I am soooooooo so so so so so very sick of listening to veterans talk down to everyone. Sure, you've been around for a lot longer than I have.
    But you know what, Profit?

    That doesn't make you right.
    Not all the time.
    Not about me.

    I don't care who you are. I don't care what you've done.
    If you step into the ring with Joshua Jeremiah Jones, I can beat you.

    This isn't about J-Crew.
    It's not about Bags. Not about any of those guys.

    XVI doesn't matter.

    Heck, you want to toss me into the ring with Don Pimpos Gigantos?
    Guess what!

    I'll knock his big ass out!

    I'm going to be Champion someday, and it's going to be a lot sooner than any of you guys want to believe.

    Do I begrudge you for wanting a shot at Steve Fella?

    No.
    That would be crazy.

    Everyone should want a shot at Fella.

    You can beat him for all it matters to me. Going after him, after you, after Steadfast. Whoever.
    I don't care.

    In the end, I'm going to have my moment.

    But you know what, Profit?
    If you do get into the ring with Fella, sorry, but my money's on him.
    If I gambled, at least. With real money.
    Which I most certainly do not.

    Nothing personal.

    Joshua shrugs.

    I'll go over anyone to get what I want.

    I promise you one thing.
    When our match is over, you won't ever question my ability to finish again.

    I let Fella get away once.
    Don't count on it happening a second time.
    Ever.
