How can I join your e-fed?
This site is invite-only. Each member has the ability to invite others. Invitees are then approved by an Admin. Simple, easy.

The more complicated version: in order to join this e-fed, you will first need to ask an OK'd Member or higher to invite you.  OK'd Members can invite up to 5 new people per month by going to their profile settings and clicking "My Invitations" in the right-side menu.  Mods, Admins and Ambassadors have unlimited Invitations.

If you're just discovering this site on your own, send an email to "admin@elite.zmannzilla.com" requesting an invitation.  Be sure to include a link to 1-3 of your most recent e-feds, and 1-3 links to your favorite roleplays (or matches that you've written).

I was invited, but I can't start any new discussions or invite other people!
Yes, because you still need to be OK'd by an Admin.  Getting Invited to the forum gives you limited access.  You can comment on most Discussions, and you can post new Discussions ONLY to "ELITE Talent Relations" (so you can submit your e-fed character) and "General Discussions & OOC" (so you can introduce yourself and talk about whatever stuff you're into).  Once you've been OK'd, you'll have full Member privileges.  Generally, we will not OK a new Member unless they've submitted a character sheet to the roster.

Can I be a Mod/Ambassador/Admin/VIP?  What do those roles mean?
You can send me a message if you're interested in any of these roles.  Mods have the ability to close and edit comments in most Discussions.  Admins have full power to do whatever is needed (so unless I know you VERY well, consider this option unavailable).  Ambassadors have an unlimited number of Invitations, which they can use for recruiting purposes.  VIPs have been with ELITE for a long time (it's been around in one form or another since May 2007) and so this role needs to be earned - all it really does is grant access to a special hidden Category...

How do I get [feature] to work?  Can I request a feature?
If you have any questions about making certain features of the site work, you can either create a new Discussion in the "ELITE IT Department" Category, or add a Comment to the "General Questions" discussion located in the same topic.  Make sure your question hasn't already been answered before asking a new one.

As for feature requests, this forum runs on Vanilla 2.  If you see a plugin for Vanilla 2 that looks like something you'd be interested in, send me a message with a link to the plugin and I'll research it.  I won't promise it'll be added, but I'll definitely look into it.  Basically, if it isn't too resource-heavy or buggy, and it looks like something that users will actually use, then I'll probably add it.

What are the rules?  Can I be banned?
A word on what gets you banned: ELITE staff abide by the philosophy that the Internet is not the 51st State, so "freedom of speech" will be the last thing on our minds if you're acting like a jack-ass or putting your entitlement issues on display. To that end, ELITE staff reserve the right to ban any member, for any reason.

Think of it this way: this forum is hosted, paid for and maintained by me, so think of it as my house.  I don't mind people visiting me, and they can even bring their friends, kids, pets, whatever.  I'm a nice guy, quite patient even, and willing to let most things slide.

That being said, anyone visiting me in my house is expected to understand what that means: this is my property, so behave yourself or leave.  There's no list of rules because I don't need a reason to kick you out of my house.  If you really need to be told what is and isn't acceptable behavior, then go learn it somewhere else - I'm not here to teach you Civility 101, and neither is anyone else in this e-fed.
